Traditional Recipe to cook Asturian Rice Pudding

Ingredients

  • 200 g of rice

  • 1 l of whole milk

  • 150 g of sugar

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • The peel of 1 lemon

  • Ground cinnamon for decoration

Process

In a large saucepan, heat the milk with the cinnamon stick and lemon peel.

Add the rice and cook over low heat for about 30-40 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent sticking.

When the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the milk, add the sugar and cook for a few more minutes.

Remove the cinnamon stick and lemon peel.

Serve the rice pudding hot, sprinkled with ground cinnamon.

A classic Asturian dessert!
