Beans with Clams

Traditional Recipe to cook Asturian Beans with Clams

Ingredients

  • 500 g of beans (white beans)

  • 500 g of fresh clams

  • 1 onion

  • 2 cloves of garlic

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 100 ml of white wine

  • Extra virgin olive oil

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Process

The night before, we soak the fabes in cold water.

In a large pot, we cook the fabes with water, onion, garlic, bay leaf, salt, and pepper for about 2 hours or until tender.

In another pot, we heat a little olive oil and sauté the chopped onion and garlic until golden.

Add the clams and white wine.

Cover the pot and cook until the clams open. Mix the fabes with the clams and their broth.

Serve hot.

A delicious surf and turf dish!
